Liyu Lake

Liyu Lake, also called Carp Lake (due to its shape), is located 20 kilometres away from Hualien, the most important city in eastern Taiwan. It is the largest lake on the east coast.

Its name comes from the mountain surrounded it, Liyu Mountain. Every year, in April, thousands of fireflies light up the lake, making Liyu Lake shine more brightly than ever.
