THE INMENSE THANBODDHAY PAGODA IN MONYWA

If you are fond of Buddha figures and the peace they transmit, you must go on a trip with us at the Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spato Monywa, Indonesia, where one of the largest pagodas in Asia has more than 600,000 figures of Buddha.

The Thanboddhay Pagoda is a group of Buddhist temples that reminds us of Borobudur in Indonesia. It was built in 1303 and later rebuilt in 1939, and on the outside and inside it has images of Siddhārtha Gautama.

This pagoda is the main tourist attraction in Monywa. Its main stupa has 582,363 images of Buddha in different sizes lined up, on several levels going up, with niches on both sides of the exterior and interior walls. It paid tribute to the 512,028 Buddhas that reached enlightment during the birth of Gautama Buda in the Samsara cycle.

The architecture of the Thanboddhay Pagoda is very broad and has many pavilions, resting homes and a large pool where fish and turtles swim freely. The entrance is guarded by huge white elephants with inlaid diamonds.

This is without a doubt a place you must visit, a place in which the luxury of its sculptures and pieces amaze all visitors of the pagoda. Our luxury resort, Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spais equally amazing. We will not only impress you, but here you will also be able to relax throughout your stay.

THE GOLDEN SEA OF CHINA

If there is something that makes us stand out at the Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spa is that not only you can enjoy a true Asian experience here without leaving Spain, but you can also make the most of the weather and the Mediterranean Sea.

However, today we are going to bring you from the blue Mediterranean Sea to a yellow sea in China. We are talking about the fields of Lougpin, a county east of Yunnan where there are thousands of hectares of yellow flowers called “colza”, a true pleasure for the eyes.

The “colza” or “Brassica Napus” (its name in Latin) is a bright yellow flower with different uses and properties: it is often used as oil.

Crop fields look golden because of these yellow flowers and they go as far as the eye can see in the horizon. The best time of the year to visit Luoping and enjoy this feast for the eyes is February and March, as it is over before June.

Besides photographers, the flourishing of the flowers of Luoping and the refreshing scent of the spring draw the bees to them, and that is why is also the centre of bee hives and honey products. That is why most crops consist of bee hives in the spring and this can bother some tourists.

If you wish to enjoy the scents of spring and witness another beautiful Asian sight, we invite you to come to the Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spa, a luxury resort where all our plants and flowers are brought straight from Asia. Are you going to miss out on it?

NAMTOK, PARADISE ON EARTH

Besides the Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spa do you know any other relaxation paradise?

Today we are bringing you to Namtok, where thermal waters and waterfalls speak for themselves.

Their thermal waters and streams turn into beautiful warm water waterfalls at a temperature of 40 to 50 degrees Celsius.

There are two types of thermal waters depending on their geological origin, magmatic and telluric waters. The type of land where they are is one of the main differences; magmatic waters appear in edgy or eruptive land, whereas telluric waters could be anywhere.

An important feature of thermal waters is that they are ionised. There are two types of ions, positive and negative. Strangely enough, the positive ones are not beneficial to the human body, they are in fact irritants. On the other hand, negative ions have the capacity to help relax. Thermal waters are loaded with negative ions.

In Namtok, the “Ron Khlong Thom Hot Waterfall”, is located very near the Emerald Pool, in a dark forest area with plenty of thermal fountains. It is a pleasure to be able to relax in this natural water, and that is why many tourists consider this visit a must during their trip.

If you also wish to relax in thermal waters and enjoy Asian massage, we recommend you come visit us at Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spa, where we offer the best for you wellbeing. Come visit us!

MOTSUJI, THE PURE LAND TEMPLE

Asia Gardens Hotal & Thai Spa is also known as a “haven of relaxation and well-being where you will be pampered”. However, today we are going to tell you about another one of many temples in Asia, called Motsuji in Hiraizumi, a very important temple for Buddhists.

Hiraizumi is a UNESCO Heritage of Humanity site, and is a must for tourists visiting the area, due to its incredible historical and cultural values.

This city used to be the northern base of the powerful Fujiwara clan, and that was also the reason why it grew especially during the Heian era (794-1185). However, when the Fujiwara clan lost power towards the end of the 12th Century, Hiraizumi followed suit.

The Motsuji Temple, which back in the day used to be more important than the neighbouring Chusonji Temple, was set on fire several times and it was totally destroyed, the garden was the only part that remained.

The Motsuji Temple in Hiraizumi mainly known due to its stunning ‘garden of pure land’, a type of Japanese garden resembling the Buddhist haven on earth and one of the few that can still be seen and visited in Japan.

Its layout reflects the cosmology of the Buddhist Pure Land spread in Japan in the 8th Century. Buda’s Pure Land represents the place where people wish to get to after they die, as well as the peace of the spirit in life. It also represents devotion to nature and Shintoism, the Buddhist Pure Land started the idea of architectural planning and garden design in Japan, which is now unique in that field.

THE UNKNOWN ISLAND OF JEJU

Some people think of the Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spa as a haven of health and well-being, and today we are going to tell you about an amazing island which offers the same peace, an island in South Korea called Jeju Island.

This small volcanic island, located south of the Korean Peninsula and part of South Korea, considered one of the most important natural havens in the world, has been given the Unesco “Treble Crown”, and has been declared Natural Heritage of Humanity, Global Geo-park and Reserve of the Biosphere.

In addition, in 2011 the Jeju Island was chosen as one of the new world seven wonders, alongside places as renowned as the Amazon and the Iguazu waterfalls.

The landscape in Jeju is covered by craters known as «oreum», a result of the volcanic eruptions which formed the island. Mount Halla is at the summit, it is 1,950 above sea level.

On the island there are paradisiac beaches, pristine water and high cliffs, as well as Mount Sanbang on the southeast coast, surrounded by Buddhist temples and legends.

Not only does the island have the mentioned natural charms to offer, but also other features that will draw you to it, like the mushroom-shaped Dol Hareubang stone statutes, Loveland Park, paying tribute to the erotic sculpture, and a teddy bear museum.

If you wish you enjoy a dream holiday, the Jeju Island has a lot to offer, but if Asia is a little far away for you, come visit us to the Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spa, a luxury haven resort in the Mediterranean where you will have a true Asian experience.
